Preserve your property in perpetuity--that means forever! A conservation easement is the only legal way to guarantee a property's protection from demolition or incompatible alteration in Oregon. Learn more about the benefits of this program and how to get started.

Public Policy

Save Legacy Businesses

Through in-depth research and outreach, our special report, Oregon's Intangible Heritage: Supporting the Preservation of Legacy Businesses, offers a clear analysis of current legacy business assistance programs, a summary of our data and outreach, and recommendations for establishing a statewide legacy business program.

Save Oregon's Heritage Barns

With an estimated 11,400 barns built prior to 1960, Oregon needs to identify and protect these rural buildings, structures, and landscapes that define its agricultural heritage. The Restore Oregon board formed the Heritage Barns Taskforce in 2011 to lead its efforts in that field. Find tools and resources to keep Oregon's barns for the next 100 years.

Save Mid-Century Modern Architecture

The importance of preserving these homes is increasingly relevant as they pass the 50-year threshold for eligibility in the National Register of Historic Places. By focusing our attention on the adaptability of mid-century design, we create opportunities to blend our modern lifestyles with the invaluable pursuit of preserving our region’s unique architectural heritage.
